1. After the successful launch of the first Kühne Logistics Day at Tongji University in June 2012, Kühne Foundation sponsors the second Kühne Logistics Day at Tongji Univeristy on June 16, 2014. The topic (theme) of the 2nd Kühne Logistics Day is "Sustainability and City Logistics". According to the research, by 2025 megacities of 10 million or more people will house more than half the world's population. Managing growing cities and their supply of resources is a formidable task that places heavy demands on logistics infrastructure and the environment. With the communication and exploration by the participants from government, business and academia, Kühne foundation is looking forward to the new ideas of how to plan the city logistics in a sustainable way, Kühne foundation is expecting that the new ideas and findings presented in Kühne Logistics Day may make valuable contribution to the development of sustainable city logistics.
